Terminology

Antagonist: A person who actively opposes or is hostile to someone or something.

 

Anthropomorphism: The attribution of human characteristics or behaviour to a god, animal, or object.

 

Archetype: A very typical example of a certain person or thing.

 

Fable: A short story, typically with animals as characters, conveying a moral.

 

Fairy tale: Something resembling a fairy story in being magical, idealized or extremely happy.

 

Folktale: A story originating in popular culture, typically passed on by word of mouth.

 

Protagonist: The leading character or one of the major characters in a play, film, novel, etc.
